An Chomhairle um Oideachas Gaeltachta agus Gaelscolaíochta (COGG) was founded under the provisions of Article 31 of the Education Act of 1998 following a campaign led by Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge, Gaelscoileanna & Eagraíocht na Scoileanna Gaeltachta to establish a structure to cater for the educational needs of Gaeltacht schools and of Gaelscoileanna. There are functions also in Article 31 relating to the teaching of Irish in the country’s other schools.

iLearn

iLearn is a new site where online resources for Irish schools will be available across different subject areas. Resources are developed and localised specially for Irish education. Teachers and students will have access in school and at home through a single school subscription fee. The resources provide an extensive set of highly interactive activities. Teachers find them easy to use within the context of their lesson plans. Pupils will find them stimulating and enjoyable, seeing them as interactive games.
